Also, there are very few announcements, but lots and lots of singing and cheering. There are a bunch of organized songs and a band of drummers. It was quite exciting. I don´t know a lot about the sport, but I guess they were not that great. Our team, River, lost to Banfield 0-1. Bummer... It was a great experience all around!

FUTBOL!!
Something that was high on my list of things to do here was go to a futbol game (um, that's soccer to you silly Americans, hehe). Well, my school organized a trip this weekend and I'm so glad I was able to join. It was very interesting to see the difference between sports in the states and here. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to see a professional soccer game, but I tried to compare it to my wide experience of watching other games (ok, that's a lie, I have very little experience). The security was the first thing I noticed. You are not allowed to bring in alcohol and, since everyone drinks a bunch before the game, they will giver you a breathalyser if you appear drunk (because everyone, literally, ´pregames´ beforehand). The other thing is that you sit according to your team and the 2 sides are separated by fences and security people. At the end of the game, the other side was escorted out and we had to wait for a bit until they were all gone. Probably a good idea..
