So, there are many mountains surrounding La Paz and I just knew that I had to be in them. I took a 3 day trek through the Corridilla Real mountain range. Oh yeah, it is rainy season. There were a few times of pretty uncomfortable weather, but all in all a great time in the woods. We went through rainforests, pre-inca ruins, and one family farms along the trail. It was me, a few guides, a French guy who spoke Spanish, and 8 Israelis, quite the mixture. Afterward, we took a bus back to La Paz, but the new road was closed. This meant we had to drive down the ¨most dangerous road in the world¨, literally the most people have died on this road than any other and it was named this by an international commitee. There are people who mountain bike down this eveyday, but I thought it was scarier in a van- very steep cliffs with little edges, one lane but two ways, not a fun picture. But I survived and now I want a t-shirt too!

We looked this up on You-Tube & dad says it looks about like the one we took in Mexico. Good thing I didn't know about this beforehand. (hope the driver wasn't drinking....)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are awesome, you should keep updating. I think you are now following your true calling. I miss your singing, who would have thought i would miss that?
