Beginning of the tour

Well, I made down here in one piece. After a few stressful weeks, I was pushed into the security by my loving parents on a plane to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I met my group the next day at a- gasp!- hotel. That's right, a real hotel, not a hostel with a bunch of people. My 'roommate' is a girl from London named, get this, Vicki. She's pretty cool and so are the other 12 people on the trip. It's actually a nice size and so far I'm glad I did this for this area.
I spent the first day roaming around the city. The next day we flew to El Calafate, then had a van pick us up to drive to El Chalten. This all in Argentina, on the boarder of Chile. We spent a whole day hiking up to this 'mountain' Fitz Roy. We were incredibly lucky because it has been raining the last 2 weeks and we got a beautiful clear day that we were able to see the mountain. It was amazing! And so great to be hiking again! I'm excited for the rest of the trip. Today I walked to a waterfall and relaxed around this small town. Right now, we are waiting for a van to take us back to El Calfate for a few days to see a glacier. This place is just gorgeous and windy! Man, I thought I had been living in a windy city... not the same. I will try to post pictures as soon as I can. Happy new year!
