Oh goodness... yes, I´m still alive!

Hello everyone (or all 4 of you that might still be reading this, hehe).
I feel like so much has happened! Oh, wait, it was a lot. Well, we spent the last few days of the tour looking at penguin colonies, touring prisions that are now museums, taking a few boats and seeing rare dolphins, a little more trekking, and canoeing across the Beagle channel (that was a highlight for me). Everything was great, beautiful, and a lot of fun. I can not wait to go back to the Patagonia! I will try to post a few photos at some point- there are just soooooo many to choose from.
Maybe it was because I just loved being in the Patagonia, or I am leaving Chicago for a reason, or I was just being emotional, but I had a hard time I first couple of days back in BA (what I will be referring to Buenos Aires from now on, it´s not just me). I wanted to take a few days to calm and settle down before I give you a BA rant, so here I am and feeling pretty good about this situation. I am living in an apartment with some other students, and a lady that coordinates the housing- she cool, doesn´t speak any english, only very clear Spanish for us students. The other people are pretty cool- a few people from Holland, England, Germany, and Sweden, split over a few floors. It´s in a pretty cool neighborhood- well, kind of on the boarder of 2 neighborhoods (Palermo and a pretty nontouristy area that I can´t remember the name of right now). I have my own room- it´s huge and lovely. Almost every afternoon, we sit at the cafe downstairs and hang out, ah summertime!
School is actually good. I almost asked for a refund and a flight home the first day, but it´s definitely good now. The first 5 minutes were spent me trying to think of `I think I am in the wrong class` in Spanish but then realized this was the first course and it´s this whole `immersion` thing that the website boasted about where they only teach in Spanish, which I then remembered was what attracted me to the the school in the first place. The first day was not our normal teacher, but our normal teacher is muy bueno! (see how much I am learning already!). There are only 4 of us in class and we are to speak Spanish the whole time, it´s been quite the experience! I think I really am learning a lot already and getting more comfortable every day. I should be ok by the end of 6 weeeks.
So, I don´t know if you have heard about BA nightlife, but it is pretty fun! They eat dinner around 10pm and go out around 12 or 1. My favorite so far has been this drum show that is every Monday night, La Bamba de Tiempo: the time bomb! Tonight I am going to go salsa dancing. Next week I am going to really look into Tango stuff.
Wow, that was a lot... are you still reading this? Oh, thanks! It is my intention to keep up with this, but so far it´s not working out as well as I thought. I´m sorry about that, but I am missing all of you and do want you to know what I am doing. Till next time... Ciao!
