PUMAs, flamingos, and osterichs, oh my!!

Anything is possible in the Patagonia! Man, it´s been a busy few days here and I have yet to figure out how to upload my photos... this internet stuff was much easier in Europe.
So, since El Chalten we went to El Calafate and saw the Perrito Moreno Glacier. This was quite incredible. I´m excited to show photos, however it´s hard to choose which ones because it all kind of starts to look the same- a big block of ice. The town was a little touristy, kind of a gateway to Patagonia, but nice enough.
Then we took a bus into Chile and stayed in Puerto Natales. We spent 2 nights camping and hiking in the Torres del Paine. Oh my gosh, this has a been a highlight for me! We hiked for miles and stayed in tents- I loved it! The weather didn´t treat us quite as well as earlier. They say you can experience all 4 seasons in one day and you never know how quickly things will change. The ´torres´ or towers are the main attraction and they were unusually covered by clouds and no wind (very rare to not be blown over). I do want to come back and properly backpack through the park (who´s up for it??). We did get an animal day though. Our 2 guides and driver are from here and have never in their lives seen a puma. They usually hunt at night and by themselves. We saw 4 adults running around during the day!! It was crazy, like we were on an expedition or something. At point I thought ¨Aren´t we supposed to run away from pumas, not toward them?¨ But it was just so incredible, you know it´s impressive if they guides are getting out their cameras. It was also cool to hear the other animals give warning cries. It was pretty cloudy, rainy, and chilly (yes, I was chilly in Chile) the whole time but my gear has kept me pretty warm and dry, I´m quite happy with it.
Tomorrow we are headed out to another town in Chile to see a peguin colony, then a few days in Ushuaia, Argentina- the southernmost city in the world. After all, this tour is called ¨End of the Earth¨. I promise I will post pictures as soon as I can... sorry for all my boring words, but man, we saw some amazing things!
